I LOVE Hollandaise Sauce, LOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE it. It tastes so good, it is so delicious, so rich, I love it. [ I should add at this point that I shouldn't eat it very often for health reasons but I'm not going to, I Love it ]

Today I have a big pot of soup simmering on the back burner of the stove. I browned up about 2 pounds of ground beef, then added a heaping tablespoon of finely chopped garlic, about 5 cubed potatoes, about 1/2 pound of diced carrots, a can of tomatoes - diced up, a cup and a half of left over beans, a tablespoon of turmeric, a teaspoon of black pepper, and a big handful of minced fresh sage. Oh, and a bit of salt.

I have bread dough rising. I use milk rather than water, and like the flavor and texture that provides.

We must all be thinking the same thing today, I made a hearty soup and loaf of bread, too. Carrots, onions, celery, bacon, a jar of tomatoes, some dried foraged mushrooms and fresh basil. Fresh sliced bread still warm with some cheese. Mmmmmm. I hope Matt is eating good too and staying warm with his 10" of rain. Tis the season.



DevilsBrew, I'd love to see these stoves and ovens you're making. You should post some photos of them. I NEED to make some sort of wood cook thing myself. I've been drooling at Guy's pizza oven and scheming how to get one into my own yard.
