Here's a quick video that shows the basic idea and construction of my Outdoor Living Rocket Stove Cooker/Patio Heater unit. It's really the heart of all my outdoor systems, or, the concept is the central concept. Obviously it can be a batch, or a windowed batch or J, or a sunken J like this one.
The sunken core is cool, I thought it would be a pain to clean but it's not bad, and cooktop height is perfect.

Very cool, Matt. I remember the discussion of the sunken feed came up in another thread and I don't think it's a problem. Being tall, I'm bending over whether it's sunken or not, unless the feed is 3' high! By sinking it, you gain some space on the footprint for smaller areas. Not to mention- I think aesthetically it's very pleasing. There is one in my future for sure.
