I made a Walker Stove

Postby Bobwieser » Thu Jul 17, 2014 2:14 am

It's not a Matt Walker stove at all. It does work well and I hope you get a good chuckle from it.
My brother in law was going to toss out a lamp and I decided to reporpose it. I hoped it was made of ceramic but as soon as I started making a 4 1/2" hole with a hole saw I knew it was not, I think it's plaster of parris. I continued any way and made a small rocket by inserting 4" PVC pipe and filling the cavity of the lamp with remaining Kast-O-Lite I had from "My first casting". I liked the look of it, here it is. http://s1320.photobucket.com/user/bobwi ... d.jpg.html
It rocketed great but I was afraid the handels would brake and hurt someone carring it. So I burned it for a long time. No surprise the plaster fell apart when it cooled. At least nobody broke a toe while carring it.
The refractory inside was fine but the stove was too short. So I casted a 12" riser to sit on it. I wanted to make a grill out of it and was thinking of making a stand from electrical metalic tubing EMT since I have plenty. I wanted it to be colapsable and portable. So I looked around the garage and basement for something else that I could use. Bang It's colapsable and I can adjust the hight! Here is the grill I'm cooking 2 burgers on it.http://s1320.photobucket.com/user/bobwi ... f.jpg.html
And the Walker part if you did'nt see.http://s1320.photobucket.com/user/bobwi ... 1.jpg.html Have a laugh on me Bob

Ha! Jeez Bob, I seriously almost spit coffee all over my screen. The way I've been feeling lately, I might need to build one of those! That actually looked really awesome before it broke, as like a little chiminea type thingy.

Yes Mat I liked the look of the lamp and also thaught it looked like a little chiminea with some carvings. The smilie face will have to do. I hoped you and others would find it as funny as people here have. It works nice.
