Read the link and your work on the bypass and copper. You've got me thinking. Have to get a hold of Matt somehow to discuss because the posted stack temp (sorry typo last post) is 300 degrees. That means double walled pipe for the chimney to run it through the rough and that's too expensive. If that temp can be dropped by means of dumping it into a mass and water heating system then all objectives will be met. Thing that got me going on this is that natural clay is hard to come by in this part of Nova Scotia and came across a load of bricks at next too nothing. Glass cook tops are found easily at the dump and intact. Soooo started looking at options.

Fired off an email to the folks at firespeaking with a list of questions. Will keep the list appraised of what comes back.
