I guess this is another "learning experience" (thanks for letting us "borrow" your original saying pa_friendly_guy) - I don't can food (yet), I dehydrate and stock up on canned goods like fruit that I'm not producing yet. I thought I'd share the "nasty side" of having canned goods if you don't check them on a regular basis.......

The can exploded about 3.00am this morning - scared the daylights out of me, my daughter and the cats

That is unusual Boo, I can see why it would scare the Bageebees out of you, Glad it was only a can exploding and not a burglar.

I actually keep a wooden walking stick beside my bed If it had been a burglar .... I was that scared that I would have beaten the poor sod senseless with it. The dogs always let me know if anyone is around....and they slept right through the excitement.

Am I the only person who has had a can explode? It's never happened before.....and I'd rather it didn't happen again

I've contacted the company that produces the tinned fruit so that I can find out why it happened.......now I guess I just "hurry up and wait"......
